SE Blueprint was honored to participate in the ACE mentorship program with students at East Tech High School.
We worked with the students to help them determine their community’s assets and identify the needs in and around their high school.
Key community needs that were determined by the students were: a library that only has a maximum capacity for 50 people and is stocked with outdated books and media, a police station with half the force necessary for a growing community, play grounds that do not allow children over 12 years old to play and a very small boys and girls club that is not capable of handling the number of youths interested in utilizing it.
These needs will be incorporated into a design planning presentation of their community. What a wonderful time spent making a difference in students lives. We were so glad to be a part of it!
After healthcare, construction is the second largest industry in the nation. ACE’s mission is to engage, excite and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering and construction through mentoring and to support their continued advancement in the industry.
