Building industry professionals from Akron and Cleveland enjoyed a fantastic round of golf at the 15th annual AIA/IIDA Golf Outing held at Sweetbriar Golf Club in Avon Lake on Friday, July 9.
SE Blueprint decided to do something different and have some fun so we sponsored a special jello shot golf cart! Manned by SE Blue employees, the cart meandered the course offering players a shot of fun. All funds raised went to the AIA Cleveland Chapter.

Karen and Brittany sell jello shots for the AIA Cleveland Chapter.

Jesenia Medina-Salkowitz gets ready to tee off.

Congrats to Kim Samartino who won longest drive! Wow!

RJ Boland’s was packed last Friday night, February 12 as AIA and IIDA members and guests gathered for the second AIA happy hour of the year. Each event has seen increased attendance and this one was no exception. By early evening the place was packed!
The night kicked off in the bar where members and guests enjoyed drink specials and snacked on appetizers that were provided by SE Blueprint all night long. Later as the bar filled, attendees were able to move into an adjacent private party room donated by RJ boland’s . Eventually the party encompassed the bar area and the private room as everyone networked and mingled with not just AIA, IIDA guests and members but everyone and anyone else who was there. A great time was had by all!
The next AIA/IIDA Happy Hour is on Friday, March 19th from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Brother’s Lounge on West 117th. These events have only gotten bigger and bigger each time they are held so make sure you get there early to take advantage of this great networking opportunity!

SE Blueprint had a blast when we attended AIA’s (American Institute of Architects) first Happy Hour event of the year at Fire Food & Drink in Shaker Square on Janaury 8. Newly elected AIA President, Bruce Jackson, was on hand to help host the well attended event. Members and guests socialized and networked while sipping drinks and enjoying appetizers provided by SE Blueprint.
Fire Food & Drink is a proud member of Cleveland Independents, an organization of locally-owned and operated restaurants that share a commitment to the community and a passion for excellence in food and service.
The next AIA Happy Hour will be held at RJ Boland’s (located downtown next to the Winking Lizard, below the CUDC) on February 12 at 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Don’t miss it! These events are great networking opportunities and are always a lot of fun.

A few weeks ago SE Blue was a proud sponsor of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) event Uncovering Cleveland in Ward 13. AIA is a catalyst for the industry making a difference through: awareness of design and building, community involvement, education and networking.
The evening began with a tour of the West Side Market. Afterward, appetizers and drinks welcomed participants at Speakeasy, a newly opened 1920’s themed bar located beneath McNulty’s Bier Markt. AIA president Robert Bostwick welcomed everyone to the event and Ward 13 Councilman Joe Simperman gave opening comments before the evening’s events began.
Three tours took participants through the Ward 13 district, giving them a look at some of the historic and significant buildings in the area. A bus tour took participants past the Leff Electric Building and Tyler Village, a walking tour saw the Convivium 33 and Keith Berr Studios and a hard hat tour walked through the Tremont Place Lofts and the Gospel Press Building. After, a reception along with an open panel discussion were held back at Speakeasy.
The next event for the AIA is their annual Cleveland Design Awards on November 20, 2009 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Click here for more info on the event.
