We are pleased to announce our involvement with the Great Lakes Burning River Festival this year. Along with producing all of the festival’s printed materials, we will also be printing all of their large format banners, signs and posters.

Don’t miss this fun and informational eco-festival on July 24 and 25 at the historic Coast Guard station on Whiskey Island. The event raises awareness of environmental issues affecting the Great Lakes region. Along with live music, good food and great beer, the festival features exhibits from area environmental groups, educational organizations along with local and organic food growers and purveyors.

SPACES exhibit examines economic crisis

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

SE Blueprint had the pleasure of working with international artists Sabine Bitter and Helmut Weber on their project for the SPACES gallery exhibit entitled: “… in a most dangerous manner” which runs from January 29 – March 26.

The exhibit demonstrates how the current economic crisis is not an anomaly or the result of government failure but rather that the economy is simply cyclical in nature.  Each of the artist’s pieces examine the current issues surrounding recovery and stabilization as well as ideas for alternative economy structures.

Projects in the exhibit include showcases of art, publications, found objects, documents, screenings, performances, and town-hall discussions.

Other artists presenting in the exhibition are: Julia Christensen, Elaine Gan, Benj Gerdes and Jennifer Hayashida, Lize Mogel, Claire Pentecost, Ohio University School of Art Critical Regionalism Initiative (Kainaz Amaria, Matthew Friday, Ray Klimek, Jeff Lovett, Yates McKee, Jason Nein, Spurse), Katya Sander, and Allan Sekula.

Sabine Bitter / Helmut Weber
Sabine Bitter and Helmut Weber have collaborated on projects that address urban geographies, architectural representations and related visual politics since 1993.

Their artistic works focus on emergent sites and overlaps of architecture, urban developments, communications systems and modes of artistic and cultural production as they are mediated through photography, video and new media technologies.

Other projects of theirs include: “Caracas, Hecho en Venezuela”, “Live Like This!” and “CITYtransformer 02″.
